The lights are low and the music is cranked up. Neon lights line just about every inch of wall space, the food smells delicious, and the mirrored saddle is glistening above the middle of the dance floor. There’s just one thing missing…
Suddenly the doors swing open, and in walks Ida Straightshooter! Now, our picture is complete.
Yes, last night was another night at Billy Bob’s Texas as one of my alter ego’s, Ida Straightshooter. This alter ego happens to be a saloon girl by trade, but don’t get any funny ideas. This saloon girl is known for being a great hostess, and NOTHING else.
Ahh, the life of an actor. It definitely keeps things interesting, and no job is ever the same. I’ve been hosting events as a saloon girl every now and then for about a year now, and so far I have roamed the plush private club at the House of Blues in Dallas, spent some time in the beautiful Gaylord Texan Resort, and last night, at the world famous Billy Bob’s Texas, yes, I got to pet an armadillo.
Would you get to do that at work?
